Nexitron Monthly Devlog (9/1/25)

Hey hey everyone! It's been quite a bit since the last update, and that's because so much has been going on behind the scenes! Some expected, some highly not expected. It's changed around some things a bit, but we always bounce back! I did want to talk about some of the things going on behind the scenes though and let you all know how development on not only Nexitron, but how other things are going!

So what's been happening behind the scenes?

August was a catastrophe for a ton of reasons, but mostly just due to a LOT of stuff going on behind the scenes. The YouTube ID Verification thing put us in a bit of a scare that it might affect some of our channels based on the stuff we post, so we had to move our attention to making sure nothing detrimental happened. Thankfully nothing bad happened (yet) and on the good side we've expanded to other platforms! Which isn't a bad thing, but it did take some time just in case something DID happen. We've discussed our beliefs on the whole "internet censorship" agenda being pushed recently, so there isn't much of a reason to talk about. On the negative side, all of this has kind of affected GRIMKITTY financially slightly. Our main revenue comes from YouTube, and other pieces such as merch sales and game revenue doesn't make as much as you'd think.

Despite the fact that we have other ways of revenue outside of the other things we do, we still gotta make sure we can handle ourselves financially! (You can't exactly make money off of properties you don't own/fangames ) We do all of this with passion as our big priority, sooo, we've put our efforts into starting a brand new original IP! Which if you didn't hear already from us constantly bugging everyone about it on our social pages, is something we're super excited about!

The New IP!

The new IP is another mobile game that could expand our more original works and maybe have another way to fund even more exciting projects such as these!

This game shouldn't take TOO long to make. Flip Out Rush initially took around 2-3 months of development, and this new game isn't any larger than FOR when it first released. We've got a schedule for everything! So Nexitron is the next priority right after this! Now, on to the stuff you guys ACTUALLY want to hear...

The Chapter Two Poster!

To celebrate Geometry Dash's 12th Anniversary, we dropped the official Chapter Two poster! The chapter is still VERY early in development, so I couldn't show a lot of characters that I wanted to (and also cause spoilers) but trust me, this chapter is FILLED to the brim with characters that I have planned to introduce, some important to the plot, some familiar faces (), and some that are just little one off characters! Rest assured, the game is gonna be filled with so much content, you're gonna understand why it took so long! ...Speaking of... I think it's time we address the elephant in the room.

2026?? ...Really???

Yes, 2026 is the planned release year. A LOT of people were surprised at this and a little sad. And while I do understand, (and I'm also sad) I went into Chapter Two with HIGHLY impossible expectations for how quickly I could get this out, and there are MANY reasons as to why.

First off... Content. The content of Chapter Two is arguably, twice as big as the first Chapter in terms of content. Not only am I making a whole new part of the campaign, but I'm also adding some elements to Chapter One! Such as platformers and challenge levels! That stuff ain't easy! And that's another thing...

Secondly, the levels. The main appeal for a lot of people with this project is the levels. And I want to put my best work into these levels as I possibly can! I'd argue that the levels are what take the most time and effort. Not only are we getting a whole new set of levels, the level count is TWICE the size of Chapter One's lineup of 5! Chapter Two is gonna be PACKED with content, and I cannot put into words how crazy this chapter will be in terms of stuff to do. So it's not exactly a walk in the park.

And lastly, the art. The art doesn't take THAT big of a time, but it does take about like, a week to get most if not almost every piece of art for the game done, both in terms of the RPG and the levels (Level Logos that you guys see in song reveals and stuff.) Long story short, making a game is hard, and lengthy, especially one of this size. This is one of, if not, the largest Geometry Dash project ever created, and for the most part it's being done by one singular person, me. So this game isn't gonna come out as quickly as I would hope.

Now don't worry! I kind of made 2026 vague on purpose. If you want a more specific idea of a release window, based on my schedule and what I have set in my head, expect the LATEST to be Summer 2026. That's the latest. It should not take any longer to release, unless some major incident happens mid-way. But if everything goes as smoothly as I hope, Chapter Two should release around that time frame, if not earlier. So any point from January 2026 to maybe around July or August 2026, is when it should drop.

That being said, how will we do the release of Chapter Two this time?

How the launch is planned to go.

I do plan to do things differently than I did with Chapter One. Chapter One was shadow dropped on Geometry Dash's Anniversary, and I plan to completely avoid it, as I think releasing it on that time was bad for the game lol. SO, instead, I plan to do a full promotional campaign of the Chapter! Complete with a 100% confident release date, trailers, promotional videos, and maybe even getting some big named YouTubers in the GD space to play the new chapter! (...This is a maybe. I am shy LOL). Anyways you guys get the point. Chapter Two will not come out on some random day like Chapter One did. It will be fully planned out, and you guys will be notified about it through a special big trailer like Chapter One had! I think I'm gonna give the date 1-2 weeks in advance. The plan is to have one ready by the time I'm willing to show everything the chapter has to offer. I already have a song and plans on what I want to show in my head for the trailer, and I can't wait to share more soon! The plan is to make Nexitron the main focus in the GD space, with absolutely nothing happening during the time of it's release, along with avoiding major game releases outside of it (yeah, we're avoiding GTA6's release window LOL) So its gonna be a bit till we know a time window for sure, but just know that the aim is to make sure absolutely NOTHING is happening during Chapter Two's launch, so you guys can enjoy it free from any distractions!

Well that's all I got to discuss for this devlog! We've hit a LOT of road bumps throughout the past few months, but I am so excited to get back to working on Nexitron and making sure I can give the best experience to you guys! Expect devlogs to slow down a bit after this one, considering that focus is currently on the New IP at the moment, but once that game is released in beta, expect to see devlogs become monthly again once we get back into full development with Nexitron Chapter Two! And to everyone out there, I hope you all have an amazing September! Spooky month is upon us! Don't think I'll have anything for then, but maybe I'll give you guys a little treat, we'll see!
